Hillary Sobel

Hillary began her career in law, grounded in an understanding of business and Corporate America from family entrepreneurs. Her practice focused on corporate-related litigation including securities and antitrust. On behalf of her clients, Hillary analyzed business decisions, governance, and financial statements of companies in a wide variety of industries, ranging from banking and credit cards to real estate, entertainment to consumer and pharmaceutical products, aerospace to energy.

Her legal and business experience led her to board service on a non-profit, enhancing the governance structure and providing a wider, corporate-focused audience to an anti-harassment organization.

After successfully practicing law, Hillary refocused her attention on advising growing, mostly women-founded, businesses. Her legal experience with investors, bankers, accountants, board directors and C-suite executives across a various industries gave her a well-developed command of risk, operations, governance, and market opportunities. With that knowledge, Hillary brings a distinctive outlook to entrepreneurship for small individual businesses, franchises, and growing regional and global organizations.

Through her consulting business, Minerva Turning Point Strategies, Hillary combines strategic thinking and curiosity to identify new pathways to growth. She has been published in Forbes Women on the intersection of profits and people, and in Medium on opening hard conversations to expand our understanding of each other. Hillary has moderated panels and discussions with women leaders on the issues facing them and their business. Important to understanding Hillary’s perspective on work and life is her belief that business and social responsibility do not sit at odds with each other and supports clients who participate in and grow with their communities.

Hillary’s passion for storytelling and advocacy finds an outlet in speaking and writing. From her appearance on “The One Problem Podcast” with Avil Beckford to her Substack, “The Cowgirl, The Shark, and Stilettos” (and other upcoming publications including a chapter in an anthology and her memoir), Hillary connects current and historical events to the stories of our daily lives.
